Wike Urges Civic Responsibility During Eid-el-Kabir

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), called for civic responsibility among residents of Abuja during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. He emphasized that the spirit of the holiday should extend beyond the festivities, urging citizens to practice patience, discipline, and sacrifice.

Wike encouraged the public to maintain cleanliness in the streets, obey traffic regulations, and promptly pay taxes while cooperating with security agencies. He reaffirmed the commitment of the FCT Administration to developmental goals, mentioning significant infrastructure projects that will stimulate growth across various economic sectors, benefiting both urban and rural areas.

Wike also noted that the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir will coincide with Children's Day on May 27, 2026, and he called on parents, teachers, and community leaders to instill values of sacrifice, honesty, and discipline in the youth. He extended warm wishes for joy and peace to the Muslim community and urged them to pray for unity and prosperity in Nigeria.
