Eight House of Reps Members Defect to Various Parties

On Tuesday, a total of eight members of the House of Representatives officially defected to other political parties, as announced in separate letters read on the floor of the House during a plenary session following the resumption from the Easter break. The People's Democratic Party (PDP) lost five members, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) lost two members.

Thaddeus Attah, representing the Eti Osa Federal Constituency in Lagos State, left the Labour Party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Abubakar Abdul from Niger State defected from PDP to APC, and Yakubu Noma from Kebbi State moved from PDP to ADC.

Additionally, Mudashiru Alani Ayedire, Ola Oluwa Adetunji, and Olusoji Odo from Osun State left PDP for Accord Party. David Fuoh from Taraba defected from APC to PDP, while Bashir Zubair from Kaduna joined ADC from APC.

Despite these defections, the APC maintains a numerical advantage in the House. The session was adjourned on Wednesday in honor of a Kano lawmaker who passed away at age 66.
