150 Observers to Monitor PWD Participation in Ekiti Election

Taf Africa plans to deploy 150 observers, including 50 persons with disabilities (PWD), to monitor PWD participation in the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election scheduled for June 20, 2026. Georg Anwayi, the program manager, stated that this initiative is part of the "Able2Vote" campaign, which aims to mobilize PWDs and reduce voter apathy while promoting their inclusion in the electoral process.

The campaign includes voter education programs across three senatorial districts in Ekiti State. Anwayi emphasized the importance of PWD participation in electing leaders who will advocate for their rights and development.

The observers will also monitor security issues on election day and provide feedback to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for necessary reforms. Femi Oni from the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities in Ekiti State praised Taf Africa's efforts to engage the PWD community and raise awareness about their electoral rights.
