APC's Biodun Oyebanji Wins 2026 Ekiti Governorship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election. The announcement was made by Adenik Oladiji on Sunday, following the election results.

Oyebanji received a total of 319,224 votes, while his closest competitor, Oluwol Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 40,543 votes. Additionally, Dare Bejid of the African Democratic Party (ADP) received 12,872 votes.

A total of 384,940 voters were accredited for the election, with 375,777 valid votes cast and 6,332 rejected votes. Oladiji confirmed that Oyebanji met all legal requirements to be declared the winner and will continue in office as the governor of Ekiti State.
