Oyebanji Receives Certificate of Return as Ekiti Governor

Biodun Oyebanji, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on a brief ceremony held at the INEC state office in Ado Ekiti, following his victory in the governorship election on June 20, 2023. Oyebanji secured a total of 319,224 votes, making him the first governor in Ekiti State's history to secure two consecutive electoral mandates.

The certificate was presented by Sam Olumekun, the INEC National Commissioner in charge of Ekiti, Oyo, and Osun states. Accompanied by his wife, Dr.

Olayemi Oyebanji, the governor expressed gratitude to the people of Ekiti State for their renewed mandate and described the election outcome as a strong vote of confidence in his administration. He emphasized his focus on consolidating existing achievements and implementing policies aimed at improving citizens' welfare, stimulating economic growth, and strengthening infrastructure across the state.

Bunmi Omoseyindemi, also from INEC, praised the peaceful conduct of the election, describing it as a model of democratic practice.
