Oyebanji Wins Ekiti Governorship Election with 319,224 Votes

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Ekiti State governorship election held on June 20, 2026. Prof.

Adenik Oladiji, the state returning officer, announced that Oyebanji received a total of 319,224 votes, defeating his closest rival, Wole Oluyede of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 240,543 votes. Other candidates included Dare Bejid of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with 12,872 votes and Opeyemi Falegan of the Accord Party (AP) with 564 votes.

The election saw a total of 988,252 registered voters, with 384,940 accredited. INEC recorded 375,777 valid votes and 6,332 rejected votes, leading to a total of 382,109 votes cast.

Prof. Oladiji certified Oyebanji's return as the winner, confirming that he met all legal requirements.
