PDP Candidate Oluyede Promises Healthcare Reforms in Ekiti

Dr. Wole Oluyede, the gubernatorial candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, has pledged to implement comprehensive reforms in the state's healthcare sector and introduce an improved social security system if elected on June 20. Speaking during a media interaction in Iker Ekiti, Oluyede, a medical practitioner, highlighted the urgent need for quality and affordable healthcare delivery, noting that the current system imposes significant financial burdens on families.

His administration plans to adopt a comprehensive healthcare reform agenda based on the World Health Organization's framework to achieve universal health coverage. Key aspects of the reform include strengthening leadership in the health sector, establishing a contributory health insurance scheme, and improving working conditions for health workers.

Oluyede also aims to ensure the regular availability of essential medicines and enhance grassroots health data collection. Additionally, he intends to prioritize social welfare programs to support vulnerable residents and improve living standards across the state.
