Ekiti State Ensures School Safety Amid Security Concerns

The Ekiti State Government, represented by Brig Gen Ebenezer Ogundana, reassured residents, particularly parents, guardians, teachers, and students, about the safety of schools and communities despite increasing security concerns in the country. During a strategic meeting in Ado Ekiti, Ogundana reiterated the government's commitment to sustaining peace and enhancing security measures across the state.

Michael Falad, the state police commissioner, and Nka Obi Bisong, the director of the Department of State Services, highlighted the importance of collaboration among school administrators and community leaders to ensure safety. They urged schools to strengthen physical security measures, such as fencing and installing lighting systems.

The government condemned the spread of false alarms regarding school attacks, which have caused unnecessary panic, and warned that those responsible for such misinformation would face legal consequences under the Cybercrime Act. The state officials called for vigilance and prompt reporting of suspicious activities to maintain public order.
