Ekiti State Bans Posters on Public Infrastructure

The Ekiti State Government, through the State Commission for Works, represented by Sola Adebayo, has announced a ban on political parties and individuals from pasting posters on public infrastructure. This decision aims to protect the aesthetic value of public structures, particularly during the ongoing construction of the Phase II flyover in Ado Ekiti.

Adebayo emphasized that defacing public infrastructure is unacceptable and undermines the project’s purpose. The government will impose sanctions on anyone caught violating this ban, which is particularly relevant as public campaign posters for the June 20 governorship election have begun to appear.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, Olukayode Ibijola, reiterated the commitment to completing the flyover project to enhance traffic flow and beautify the state capital. Residents and political groups are urged to cooperate with the government to preserve the benefits of the new infrastructure.
