Oyebanji Wins Fayose's Polling Unit in Ekiti Election

In the recent governorship election in Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) achieved a significant victory in the polling unit of former governor Ayodele Fayose, located at St. David's Primary School in Afao Ekiti.

Oyebanji secured 448 votes, defeating his nearest competitor, Dare Bejid of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), who garnered 37 votes. The People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Wole Oluyed, managed to obtain only four votes.

The official figures from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) indicated that there were 493 valid votes cast out of 538 accredited voters, with seven ballots rejected. This result is particularly noteworthy given the polling unit's location in Fayose's hometown, highlighting Oyebanji's dominance in a politically significant area.
