Ogunlola Declines 2027 National Assembly Ambition

Omowumi Ogunlola, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, has ruled out her ambition to contest for a seat in the 2027 National Assembly elections. She made this announcement during a media event in Ado Ekiti, stating her decision is based on the need to focus on current national assignments and deliver quality services to the people of Ekiti State.

Ogunlola emphasized that while she will not seek election in 2027, she remains open to future opportunities to serve the state. She is currently a member of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) and has committed to consulting with political structures and stakeholders to ensure clarity and unity of purpose.

Ogunlola expressed her belief that the interests of Ekiti State should take precedence over personal ambitions, and she acknowledged the support of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji and the APC for her ongoing commitment to the development of the state.
