INEC Distributes Election Materials for Ekiti Guber Poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun the distribution of election materials to 16 local government areas in Ekiti State in preparation for the governorship election set for June 20. The distribution commenced early on Thursday at 8:00 AM from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) office in Ado Ekiti.

Mr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, supervised the process, which included the presence of security agencies such as the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service, and the Department of State Services (DSS).

Omoseyindemi described the exercise as smooth and coordinated, reiterating the commission's readiness to conduct a credible, transparent, and violence-free election. He urged eligible voters to participate en masse in the electoral process.

Additionally, Mr. Abayomi Shogunl, the police charge for the election, assured residents of adequate security and encouraged voter participation without fear of intimidation or harassment.
