SDP Denies Withdrawal from Ekiti Guber Election

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) firmly denied reports claiming that it had withdrawn from the Ekiti State governorship election, asserting that its candidate, Ambassador Isaac Adebayo Alad, will fully participate in the election. The party's statement, issued by its National Public Secretary, Araba Rufu Aiyenigba, urged the public to disregard misleading reports.

SDP's National Chairman, Prof. Sadiq Umar Abubakar, reaffirmed the party's commitment to contesting the election.

The party also alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had failed to activate the portal necessary for uploading their polling unit agents, despite having received access codes. This situation raised concerns about the credibility and transparency of the electoral process, as SDP argued that the inability to deploy agents could undermine the election's integrity.

The party emphasized its dedication to providing a credible alternative for the development of Ekiti State and continued advocacy for a fair electoral process.
