PDP Candidate Dr. Wole Oluyede Rejects Ekiti Election Results

Dr. Wole Oluyede, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Ekiti State governorship election, has rejected the election results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The results, declared by Professor Adenik Oladiji, the INEC Chief Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), showed the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate winning with 319,224 votes, while Oluyede received 40,543 votes, placing him second.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Dare Bejid, finished third with 12,872 votes. Oluyede's campaign organization, led by Chief Sanya Atofari, criticized the conduct of the election, alleging widespread irregularities, voter intimidation, and harassment of opposition supporters.

They stated that these actions compromised the integrity of the electoral process and cast serious doubt on the authenticity of the results. The campaign urged supporters to remain peaceful and explore legal avenues to challenge the outcome.
