Ekiti Voting Begins with Elderly Voter Priority

Voting began in Ekiti at Poll Unit 001 located at St. Paul Primary School in Ekamarun Ward, Ijero Local Government Area.

Elderly voters received priority to ensure a smooth and comfortable voting process. The electoral activity proceeded in a peaceful and orderly manner as voters arrived steadily to cast their ballots.

However, intense weather conditions, particularly the scorching sun, posed challenges for voters. APC stakeholders suggested relocating the polling area to a nearby shaded location with large trees to improve comfort and reduce heat exposure.

Minor incidents were recorded, including a complaint from a female voter regarding her voting process, which was promptly addressed by party representatives. Despite these brief developments, the voting process continued without interruption, and officials expressed optimism that the exercise would remain peaceful and transparent throughout the day.

Voting is expected to continue until the official closing time, after which ballot counting will commence according to electoral guidelines.
