Oyebanji's Aide Predicts High Voter Turnout in Ekiti

Yinka Oyebod, an aide to Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, expressed optimism for a good voter turnout in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for Saturday. He made this prediction during a meeting with media executives in Ado Ekiti on Friday.

Oyebod attributed his confidence to the peaceful history of Ekiti and the significant collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), with nearly 91 percent of eligible voters having collected theirs. He noted that the current political environment allows opposition parties to operate freely, contrasting it with previous elections marked by violence.

Oyebod emphasized that the government has created a conducive atmosphere for all political entities, ensuring equal rights and freedoms regardless of political, religious, or cultural affiliations. He stated that there have been no reports of violence or restrictions on opposition activities, indicating a clear expectation of a peaceful and violence-free electoral exercise.
