Governor Oyebanji Visits Ikere Fire Disaster Victims

On Thursday, Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State visited Ikere to sympathize with the victims of a fire disaster that occurred on Tuesday, which completely destroyed a 12-room bungalow belonging to 95-year-old Pa Matthew Jayeola in the Osun Area community. During his visit, Oyebanji appealed to the public to heed safety warnings and adopt precautionary measures to prevent future fire incidents.

He emphasized the importance of civil practices, advising against cooking inside rooms. The governor commended local representatives, including Hon.

Adeyemi Rufu Ojuawo, Chairman of Ikere Local Government, and Hon. Olu Adamolekun of Ikere West LCDA, for their efforts.

The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) provided donations, including 20 bundles of iron sheets and 10 bags of cement, to assist victims in the rebuilding process. Oyebanji highlighted the government's commitment to the welfare of the populace, noting that while the impact of the disaster was significant, it was fortunate that no lives were lost.
