Ekiti PDP Sets Conditions for Oluyede's Candidacy

The Ekiti State faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), represented by state chairman Lanre Omolas, has set specific conditions for the recognition of Dr. Wole Oluyede as the party's governorship candidate for the upcoming June 20, 2026 elections.

Omolas clarified that Oluyede's candidacy is not yet formally recognized due to a lack of integration into the party's structure, despite being nominated by the Taminu Turaki-led faction. This statement followed a meeting with Nyesom Wike in Abuja, which was interpreted as a step towards broader acceptance within the party.

Omolas emphasized that for Oluyede to be recognized as the PDP flagbearer, he must formally submit to the party's leadership structure and fully reintegrate with the group at the ward and state levels. The faction expressed confidence in the party's readiness for the forthcoming elections, reflecting the PDP's internal strength and commitment to democratic participation.
