Ekiti Residents Fear Electoral Violence Ahead of Polls

A recent survey indicates that 57% of residents in Ekiti State are worried about electoral violence as the governorship election approaches. The survey shows that 70% of respondents prioritize security, with concerns that violence could significantly affect voter turnout. Dr.

Bunmi Omoseyindemi of INEC highlighted the need for compliance with electoral acts and the importance of addressing issues like vote buying and misinformation. Prof.

Shola J. Omotola warned that electoral offenses undermine the credibility of elections and public trust in democratic institutions.
