Ekiti Schools Resume September 14 for New Academic Term

The Ekiti State Government has confirmed that public and private schools in the state will resume on Monday, September 14, 2026, for the first term of the 2026/2027 academic session, which will run for 13 weeks until December 11, 2026. Dr Olabimpe Aderiye, the Commissioner for Education, reassured parents, teachers, and stakeholders of the government's ongoing commitment to quality service delivery in the education sector.

In a statement released in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, Aderiye urged school administrators, teachers, parents, and guardians to adhere to the academic calendar and ensure full compliance. She stated that academic activities would commence immediately to maintain the integrity of the academic calendar.

The government will continue to support initiatives aimed at enhancing students' academic performance in local and national examinations. Aderiye also called on parents and guardians to prepare their children for resumption and urged private school proprietors to ensure their institutions are ready for the new academic session.
