Ekiti State to Recruit 1,500 Teachers for Schools

The Ekiti State Government has announced its intention to recruit 1,500 teachers for public primary and basic schools across the state. This initiative aims to strengthen basic education and improve learning outcomes.

Professor Femi Akinwumi, the Executive Chairman of the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), stated that the recruitment process has begun with online applications and will be conducted transparently, fairly, and based on merit. The recruitment will utilize a Computer-Based Test (CBT), ensuring equal opportunity for all candidates.

Successful applicants will be assigned to schools in their communities to address teacher shortages, particularly in grassroots areas, and will be required to commit to staying in their assigned communities for at least five years. Akinwumi emphasized the importance of transparency and integrity in the recruitment process, reflecting the values of Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

He also noted that the recruitment drive is part of a broader effort to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in public schools.
