Ekiti State University Law Exam Questions Go Viral

Ted Designs, a law student at Ekiti State University in Ado Ekiti, celebrated the completion of his semester examinations by posting a photo of his Company Law II exam question sheet on social media. The exam, conducted during the second semester under course code LBI 504, allocated students two hours and thirty minutes to answer any four questions from three sections.

The questions addressed significant topics in Nigerian corporate law, heavily referencing the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA). Section A required analysis of company winding-up, share capital structures, and the judicial definition of shares from the landmark 1901 case Borland's Trustees v.

Steel Brothers Co. Section B focused on directorship issues, including the validity of a 70-year-old undischarged bankrupt serving on a board and the removal process for directors.

Section C included questions on corporate mergers, Annual General Meetings under CAMA 2020, and the balance between majority rule and individual shareholder rights as established in classic cases.
