Ekiti Governor Oyebanji Distributes 100 Security Vehicles

On Monday, Governor Biodun Oyebanji distributed 100 operational vehicles to security agencies in Ekiti state during a ceremony in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital. The vehicles are intended to strengthen security operations, improve the mobility of security personnel, and enhance rapid response to emergencies.

Benefiting agencies include the Police, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, and the Department of State Security, along with local security networks. Governor Oyebanji emphasized that this initiative demonstrates his administration’s commitment to protecting lives and property.

He noted that the vehicles would also facilitate the eventual establishment of the proposed Ekiti State Police Outfit. This distribution follows a previous initiative two years ago, where patrol vehicles, Armoured Personnel Carriers, bullet-proof vests, helmets, and other security equipment were provided to security agencies in the state.

Oyebanji described the current distribution as a “bolder step” in addressing the operational needs of security agencies.
