Ekiti State to Build 1,500km of Roads with World Bank

The Ekiti State Government, led by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, has announced an ambitious plan to construct approximately 1,500 kilometres of roads across the 16 local government areas of the state. This initiative will be executed in partnership with the World Bank under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).

During a town hall meeting held on Thursday in Aramoko-Ekiti, Oyebanji revealed that the third phase of the RAAMP programme would cover 235 kilometres of rural roads and is set to commence after the rainy season. The governor highlighted that this extensive road project aims to alleviate transportation challenges and enhance connectivity within the state.

He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to fulfilling promises made to the electorate and mentioned ongoing efforts to address flooding and erosion issues in various areas. Additionally, Oyebanji noted the renovation of 110 primary healthcare centres to improve healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.
