Ekiti Pensioners Urge Governor Oyebanji for Payment

Pensioners from the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, have formally appealed to Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji for immediate intervention regarding their unpaid pensions and entitlements. The appeal, made by the BOUESTI Pensioners Association, highlights that members are experiencing severe hardship due to the non-payment of their August 2026 pension and the incomplete payment of 50 percent of the July pension.

The letter, dated September 7, 2026, was signed by Chairman Dr Kola Ajaja and Public Relations Officer Alao Odeyemi. The pensioners expressed that the delays have led to financial difficulties, health issues, and even untimely deaths, as many rely on their pensions for basic needs.

They requested the full payment of the August 2026 pension, the remaining July pension arrears, and other outstanding gratuities and adjustments. The association chose to appeal to the governor rather than protest, believing he would respond urgently to their plight.
