Eko Hotels Celebrates 50 Years with Africa Legacy Summit

Eko Hotels & Suites marked its 50th anniversary by hosting the Africa Legacy Summit, which took place over two days at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos. The summit, themed "Reimagining the Future of African Hospitality, Tourism, and Travel," aimed to address broader questions about Africa's cultural and economic narratives.

Dignitaries present included Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, renowned scholar Patrick Lumumba, and Air Peace Chairman Allen Onyema. The event opened with the Nigerian national anthem and featured cultural performances.

Discussions emphasized the need for Africa to redefine its tourism sector, moving beyond reliance on oil and focusing on its rich cultural heritage. Onyema criticized Nigeria's over-dependence on crude oil, advocating for the development of tourism infrastructure.
