EL-Lab Secures ISO 15189:2022 Reaccreditation in Nigeria

EL-Lab Medical Diagnostics and Research Centre has secured reaccreditation to ISO 15189:2022, marking a significant achievement as it has maintained its accredited status for ten years. This makes EL-Lab the first indigenous medical laboratory in Nigeria to attain this level of accreditation.

Currently, less than 50 medical laboratories in Nigeria, both public and private, meet the ISO standards. The reaccreditation process was conducted by Nigeria's National Accreditation System (NINA), which confirmed that EL-Lab continues to meet the requirements of the international standard governing quality and competence in medical laboratories.

The accreditation covers all aspects of sample handling, testing procedures, staff competence, and quality management, ensuring that patients and clinicians can trust the accuracy and reliability of the results. Dr.

Elochukwu Adibo, the Managing Director of EL-Lab, stated that this achievement reflects the laboratory's commitment to quality assurance and the training of staff to improve processes, leading to reliable outcomes for patients referred by clinicians.
