El-Rufai Sues ICPC for N1bn Over Abuja Home Raid

Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai has initiated a N1 billion lawsuit against the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in the Federal High Court, Abuja. The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/345/2026, seeks to nullify a search warrant issued by a magistrate court on February 4, which allowed ICPC operatives to conduct a search and seize items from El-Rufai's residence.

His legal team, led by Oluwol Iyamu, contends that the warrant is invalid and requests the court to set aside the actions taken by the ICPC during the operation on February 18. The investigation by the anti-corruption agency is reportedly ongoing, although specific details have not been disclosed.

Muyiwa Adekey, El-Rufai's media aide, condemned the ICPC's actions as unlawful and a clear violation of legal procedures and fundamental rights.
