ICPC Searches Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai's Home

On Thursday, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) searched the residence of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. This action followed El-Rufai's questioning by the commission on Wednesday night regarding economic and financial crimes, after which he was released on bail.

El-Rufai's lawyer criticized the search, labeling it unlawful and a clear violation of legal procedures and fundamental rights. The ICPC has not disclosed specific details about the investigation but stated that updates would be provided in line with its mandated procedures.

The commission's statement indicated that El-Rufai remains under investigation, with the process expected to continue until February 18, 2026. The EFCC, another agency involved in financial crime investigations, was also mentioned in relation to the ongoing scrutiny of El-Rufai.
