El-Rufai Discusses Dadiyata's Abduction in Interview

In a recent interview, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, addressed the abduction of social media critic Abubakar Idri, also known as Dadiyata. El-Rufai stated that he did not know Dadiyata prior to the abduction, which occurred in 2019.

Dadiyata, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has remained missing since his abduction. A policeman from Kano confessed that someone had sent him to abduct Dadiyata, which left El-Rufai feeling regretful upon learning about the situation.

The interview aired on February 13, 2026, and was conducted by Arise News. Additionally, El-Rufai urged against the presidential ambitions of Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 elections and discussed challenges faced by the APC administration in the upcoming polls.

His legal team criticized alleged unlawful arrests and asserted a lack of proper procedures in security operations.
