El-Rufai Addresses Dadiyata's Abduction, Blames Ganduje

In an interview on Arise Television's prime time program on Friday, Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, addressed his involvement in the abduction of Nigerian social media critic Abubakar Idris, popularly known as Dadiyata. Dadiyata was abducted by gunmen from his home in Barnawa, Kaduna State, on August 1, 2019.

El-Rufai clarified that Dadiyata was not a critic of Kaduna State but rather had issues with Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State. He emphasized that Ganduje was the source of Dadiyata's problems.

Reports indicate that Dadiyata's family has been in distress since his abduction, and police investigations have revealed that some individuals from Kano confessed to being sent to kidnap him. El-Rufai expressed concern over the situation, highlighting the stress experienced by Dadiyata's family during the three days following his abduction.
