El-Rufai to Attend ADC Convention in Spirit Amid Trial

Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, made a statement indicating he would attend the ADC convention in spirit while he stands trial on nine counts of corruption filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC). El-Rufai arrived at the Kaduna State High Court at 9:00 AM, where he briefly spoke to his loyalists before the proceedings began. He was seen accompanied by his lawyer and responded to questions from journalists. The ADC convention is scheduled to be held in Abuja. Following the court proceedings, El-Rufai entered a Hilux vehicle and departed under heavy security presence, including armed police officers and personnel from the Department of State Services (DSS). He was arraigned alongside Amadu Sule, with allegations including abuse of office and intent to commit fraud for undue advantage.
