El-Rufai Faces Corruption Charges in Kaduna Court

On Monday, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai appeared at the Kaduna State High Court for the continuation of his trial concerning allegations of corrupt practices. El-Rufai is facing charges filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), which include ten counts of abuse of office and money laundering, involving a total of N579.6 million and an additional charge of N1.1 million.

Alongside him in the trial is Amadu Sule, who is also implicated in the alleged offenses. As El-Rufai entered the courtroom, he was overheard discussing an upcoming convention of the African Democratic Congress, indicating his intention to remain politically active despite the ongoing legal proceedings.

The court's security presence was notably heavy, with measures in place to maintain order around the premises as the trial continues.
