El-Rufai Returns to ICPC Custody Amid Legal Proceedings

Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, has been returned to the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) as legal proceedings against him resume. El-Rufai had initially left ICPC custody on March 27, 2026, due to the death of his mother.

However, he was re-arraigned on a Tuesday in a Kaduna State High Court, where the case against him was set to proceed. The proceedings were stalled due to the absence of a second defendant, leading to the case being adjourned until April 10, 2026.

Following this adjournment, El-Rufai was taken to the Federal High Court in Kaduna, where a bail application was scheduled for a hearing on March 31, 2026. The details of the case and further proceedings will be provided later.
