Bello El-Rufai Stays with APC Despite Father's Opposition

Bello El-Rufai, the son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has publicly stated his decision to remain with the All Progressives Congress (APC) based on his free will. In an interview with BBC Hausa Service on Thursday, he affirmed his commitment to the party, despite his father's ongoing opposition to APC's rule and his promise to work against the party in the upcoming 2027 elections.

Bello, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaduna North, emphasized that his decision does not conflict with his father's stance against the APC. Nasir El-Rufai, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), noted that he is pleased with his son's performance as an elected official.

The younger El-Rufai's choice to remain in the APC comes amid attempts to resist pressures to leave the party, highlighting his capability to make independent political decisions.
