ADC Chieftain Calls for Removal of Senator Akpabio Over Rejection of Electronic Transmission of Election Results

Kenneth Okonkwo, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has labeled Senator Godswill Akpabio as an "enemy of democracy" for opposing the real-time electronic transmission of election results in Nigeria. Okonkwo criticized Akpabio for going against modern technology and potentially enabling election rigging.

The Senate recently rejected a proposal to make electronic transmission of results compulsory. Okonkwo emphasized the importance of embracing technology in the electoral process to prevent manipulation.

He referenced Supreme Court Justice Abba Aji's warning against electoral rigging and manipulation. Okonkwo called for Akpabio's removal if he fails to resign, accusing him of perpetuating a cycle of electoral fraud.
