Court Adjourns Trial-Within-Trial in Corruption Case Involving Former CBN Governor Emefiele

The trial-within-trial involving former CBN governor Emefiele in a corruption case was adjourned by Justice Rahman Oshodi to January 16 at a special offense court in Ikeja, Lagos. During the proceedings, defense witness Nnamdi Offia, cross-examined by prosecution counsel Rotimi Oyedepo, admitted to Emefiele's caution during interrogations.

Offia also alleged harassment by EFCC officials and being compelled to provide answers during investigations. The defense claimed a violation of fundamental rights and enforced disappearance.

The case involves allegations of misconduct and irregularities during the investigation process.
