Emir of Ilorin Celebrates Islamic New Year with Peace Message

On Tuesday, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, congratulated the Muslim ummah on the Islamic New Year, 1st Muharram 1448 H. In his goodwill message, issued through spokesman Abdulazeez Arowona, he reflected on the significance of Hijrah, the migration of Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Madinah, which established the foundations of justice and brotherhood.

The Emir urged Muslims to renew their commitment to peace and coexistence, appealing to Nigerian religious and political leaders to avoid divisive rhetoric that could lead to societal discord. He commended the administration of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for its support of religious harmony and encouraged youth to emulate the discipline and courage of early Muslims, steering clear of violence and social vices.

Additionally, he offered special prayers for the late Prof. Yusuf Lanr Badmo, recognizing his contributions to scholarship and the advancement of Islamic values in Kwara State.
