Cherubim and Seraphim Leader Prophet Alogbo Passes Away

Prophet (Dr.) Emmanuel Abiodun Adewale Alogbo, the Worldwide Spiritual Leader of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, died recently, prompting tributes from church members and the broader Christian community. Born on April 18, 1933, in Lagos, he received his primary education at Ago-Ijaiye Primary School and secondary education at St.

Paul’s Secondary School and Oduduwa College. Alogbo began his career with the Nigerian Railway Corporation in 1950 and experienced a pivotal moment in his spiritual journey in 1955 while in Zaria, where he joined the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church's choir in 1959.

He established the first church branch south of the River Niger in Surulere, Lagos, on September 29, 1960, with about 10 worshippers. Alogbo was a pioneer of contemporary worship, introducing various musical instruments and dance-style music.

He also played a significant role in establishing church branches in the United States and the United Kingdom. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
