Adamawa State Launches 120 CNG Tricycles for Youth Empowerment

The Adamawa State Government, in collaboration with the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP), launched a consumer-credit mobility program that inaugurated 120 CNG-powered tricycles aimed at creating income-generation opportunities and supporting entrepreneurship. The inauguration ceremony took place at Mahmud Ribadu Square, Jimeta-Yola, with various stakeholders in attendance.

Beneficiaries will access the tricycles through structured installment payment arrangements. Mallam Imam Tolihat Umar, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sub-City Project Global Consult, emphasized the importance of responsible use of the vehicles and timely repayment, stating that the success of the beneficiaries could demonstrate the potential of credit access for building sustainable livelihoods.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented by Wunfe Anthony, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Transportation, described the initiative as an investment in economic mobility and livelihoods, highlighting the role of transportation in providing daily income for many in Adamawa. He also noted the environmental benefits of using compressed natural gas for cleaner mobility.
