Gov Diri Urges Ministers to Emulate Rev. Uma Ukpai

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State called on Christian ministers to emulate the late Rev. Dr.

Uma Ukpai, who significantly impacted rural communities by spreading the gospel beyond urban areas. Diri made this appeal during a condolence visit to Ukpai's family in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, following the evangelist's passing.

He highlighted Ukpai's dedication to preaching in remote villages, stating that his efforts should inspire ministers to extend their outreach to cities like Abuja, Lagos, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt, and Benin City, particularly in areas affected by idol worship. Diri expressed his condolences to Ukpai's wife, Dr.

Philomina Ukpai, who appreciated the governor's support and emphasized her husband's legacy of faith. Rev.

Ukpai, who passed away at the age of 80, will be laid to rest on March 26, 2025. The governor's delegation included his wife, Dr.

Gloria Diri, and other notable figures from the religious community.
