Oyetola: Adeleke's Tinubu Endorsement Won't Save Him

Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former governor of Osun State, addressed All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders and supporters, asserting that Governor Ademola Adeleke's endorsement of President Bola Tinubu would not save his administration from defeat in the upcoming governorship election on August 15. Oyetola, who lost to Adeleke in the 2022 governorship election, responded to Adeleke's allegations of intimidation against APC members and leaders of the Accord Party.

He interpreted Adeleke's complaints as a sign of the governor's diminishing control over the state. Oyetola stated, “Endorsement cannot retain this seat for you.

We are taking it over,” indicating confidence in the APC's ability to reclaim the governorship. He also dismissed Adeleke's references to him, suggesting that the governor's concerns were unfounded and that he had intentionally avoided public disputes with Adeleke.
