Plateau Governor Mutfwang Responds to Deadly Attack

Governor Mutfwang of Plateau State addressed the recent attack in Angwan Rukuba during a statewide broadcast on Tuesday, confirming that 28 citizens lost their lives in the incident. He described the attack as senseless and expressed condolences to the victims, who were law-abiding citizens caught off guard.

Mutfwang assured that Plateau State would not succumb to fear or intimidation. In response to the violence, he announced a 48-hour curfew in Jos North to facilitate thorough security operations.

The governor visited victims at the Jos University Teaching Hospital and expressed optimism for their recovery, stating that the government would cover medical expenses for the injured. He also disclosed that suspects had been arrested in connection with the attack and promised support for the families of the deceased, including assistance for dignified burials.

Additionally, he directed a strict enforcement of a ban on commercial motorcycle operations within Jos as part of a broader security strategy.
