Energia and Oando Launch Host Community Development Trust

Energia Limited and Oando PLC inaugurated the Ndokwa West 1 Host Community Development Trust (HCDT) in Asaba, Delta State, marking a significant milestone in community engagement under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021. The event featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and was attended by representatives from the Delta State government, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), traditional rulers, and community leaders.

Sir Mondai Onyem, Deputy Governor of Delta State, and Hon. Christoph Osakw, Deputy Chief of Staff, praised Energia for successfully establishing the trust.

Mr. Oladimeji Bashorun, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Energia, described the inauguration as the beginning of a new chapter in the relationship with host communities, emphasizing the company's commitment to sustainable development.

Energia has invested N15.94 billion in community development initiatives, including infrastructure, healthcare, education, and social welfare programs. The ceremony concluded with the swearing-in of the trust board members, led by Chairman Chief Godwin Edem.
