Eno Supports Completion of Akwa Ibom Power Project

On Tuesday, Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno assured the Niger Delta Power Holding Company of Nigeria (NDPHC) of the state government's support to complete the National Integrated Power Project along the Ikot Ekpene–Ikot Abasi axis. Eno stated that the project's completion is crucial for enhancing power supply and supporting the state's industrialization efforts.

He committed to resolving outstanding issues related to the 330kV transmission line. NDPHC Managing Director and CEO Jennifer Adighije praised Eno's willingness to intervene, noting that non-payment of wayleave compensation to affected communities has hindered the project's progress.

Adighije's delegation aimed to inform the governor about the challenges faced and seek intervention for completion. She also congratulated Eno on establishing the Akwa Ibom State Electricity Regulatory Commission and expressed readiness to collaborate on developing an effective electricity market framework to improve power distribution in the state.
