Governor Umo Eno Recognized for Healthcare Advancements

Umo Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, was honored by Nigerian nurses and heads of nursing services for his administration's significant investments in healthcare infrastructure, workforce development, and service delivery. The recognition was presented by the Body of Heads of Nursing Services Department and Principals of Schools in Federal Health Institutions (BOHNAPFHI) and the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) during a stakeholders’ engagement on ARISE 2.0 in Uyo.

Eno received the Nurse-Friendly Governor Award for his commitment to enhancing the nursing and midwifery workforce. Ndaji Alhassan, the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, commended the governor for projects like the Ibom Medical City and model primary healthcare centers.

The National President of NANNM praised the governor for his achievements and support for the association's upcoming conference in Akwa Ibom. Eno dedicated the honors to the people of Akwa Ibom and emphasized his administration's focus on healthcare transformation, including employing young graduates and engaging retired nurses.
