Umo Eno Supports Ibom Air and MRO Facility Expansion

Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the full operation of the Aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo and ongoing support for the Ibom Air fleet expansion programme. This commitment was made in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, following high-level meetings with SAMCO Group Europe and Airbus in Montreal, Canada, ahead of the pre-delivery inspection of Ibom Air’s new Airbus A220-300 aircraft.

Eno emphasized the need for practical partnerships to enhance the state’s aviation infrastructure, create skilled employment, and develop a sustainable local aviation workforce. He noted substantial financial investments made by his administration in completing the MRO facility and expressed a desire for a relationship with SAMCO that extends beyond consultancy to include maintenance, technical support, and training for the Ibom Air fleet.
