Enugu ADC Youth Leaders Endorse Amaechi for Presidency

Youth leaders from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State have publicly backed former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi's presidential ambition, asserting that power should remain in the South beyond 2027. This declaration was made by a group led by Festus Omeh, who criticized the state chapter's endorsement of Atiku Abubakar as not reflective of the majority sentiment among ADC members in Enugu.

The youth leaders expressed concerns over potential manipulation by political interests that could distort the primary election process scheduled for May 25. They emphasized the importance of a transparent and fair primary, warning against any attempts to impose predetermined outcomes.

The group firmly stated their commitment to supporting Amaechi, whom they believe represents credible leadership capable of uniting the country. They called on the national executive council of the ADC to monitor developments in Enugu to ensure party unity and prevent internal disputes ahead of the 2027 elections.
