Enugu State Denies Involvement in Uche Nnaji Case

The Enugu State government issued a statement on Thursday denying any involvement in the criminal case against Uche Nnaji, the former Minister of Science and Technology. Governor Peter Mbah's administration, through his special adviser on media, Onyekwer Nwobodo, clarified that the governor neither initiated nor influenced the prosecution of Nnaji.

The statement was a response to claims made on social media by Igboayaka O Igboayaka of the Ohanaeze Youth Council, which the government described as false, misleading, and defamatory. Governor Mbah emphasized that he has not filed any complaints against Nnaji, whether civil or criminal, and criticized attempts to link him to Nnaji's legal troubles as politically motivated.

The government argued that such claims aim to divert public attention from the criminal allegations facing the former minister and warned against undermining the rule of law.
