Mainpower Electric Repairs Storm-Damaged Power Feeders

Mainpower Electric Distribution Limited has initiated repairs on feeders that were damaged due to a heavy rainstorm that struck Enugu Metropolis on Sunday afternoon. The storm, characterized by strong winds, led to significant damage to electrical infrastructure, resulting in power outages across several parts of the state capital.

At least 12 communities were plunged into darkness as a result of the storm, which caused wire cuts along the Emen Industrial Line 1 and 2, impacting distribution towers that feed into major 33kV lines in the area. The affected feeders include Tran Ekulu, Thinker Corner, Ituku, Ozalla, and Ugwogo.

Mainpower Electric Distribution Limited has mobilized its technical team to locate faults and restore power supply as quickly as possible. The company has apologized to its customers for the unforeseen outages caused by extreme weather conditions and assured residents that power will be restored once necessary repairs are completed and the network stabilized.
